Sacred and Sequential
Mission Statement

Sacred & Sequential (S&S) is an organization of scholars explaining and exploring the intersection of religion and the comic art form. When the topic of religion appears in — or in relation to — comics and graphic novels, our goal is to offer immediate, authoritative, and informed analysis with a historical perspective, nuanced commentary, and useful advice. We seek to be a source to which readerships of all levels or doctrines can turn and on which media sites can rely. We are an online presence, but also embody a readership, a business, and a brand. S&S does not seek to control the discourse or define the stories of the day; instead, we focus them, make them accessible, authentic, accountable, and educational.

Original diatribe and group call by A. David Lewis.
